SCEDC Signs Memorandum of Understanding

On June 15 South County EDC  joined a coalition of binational organizations in signing a Memorandum of Understanding focused on advancing the San Diego and Tijuana region.

The effort will focus on generating and promoting economic and business opportunities on both sides of the international border, strengthening the economy, quality of life, and education and tourism as a means of attracting foreign direct investment to the region.

Our organizations have long been partners in identifying resources and opportunities and this agreement further cements our unified efforts.

Electric Vehicle and Electrical Material Handling Incentives

Are you using electric equipment? Want to generate more income? 

If you operate battery-electric material handling equipment in California, you can earn new revenue through California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) – a program that aims to encourage the use of electric and hydrogen vehicles by providing incentives for their operation.

Graffiti Removal Program 

The County of San Diego Planning & Development Services is hosting three webinars to receive input for a proposed Graffiti Removal Program.

These webinars will cover project background and objectives, and will provide an interactive forum to answer questions and gather public input. All webinars will cover the same information, but are offered multiple times so you may select the date and time that is most convenient for you.

CBX Opens New $100M Passenger Facility

The $100 million, 430,000-square-foot passenger processing facility using the Cross Border Xpress (CBX) bridge will reduce Cross Border Xpress' passenger wait times, improve the travel experience and increase screening capacity by 75 percent.

Chula Vista Food and Waste Recycling Program

This program will allow our community to combat the climate crisis by increasing the City of Chula Vista’s waste diversion goals and increase edible food recovery. Food and Yard waste collected will be converted to compost at the Otay Composting Facility…the first fully solar-powered composting facility in California!
