Welcome to 2023! As we turn the corner into the new year, I’m excited
to share our Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Report which highlights rising to the challenge of managing water in today’s
world.
In 2022, the Water Authority Board and staff met numerous challenges with a collaborative approach to best serve our community. From repairing pipelines and protecting the Carlsbad Desalination Plant from an oil spill, to combatting inflation and navigating extreme drought conditions, 2022 was non-stop.
Through all the challenges, I’m proud to say our agency stayed true to our vision and values. We worked with stakeholders to address the big issues -- ensuring equitable access to water, collaborating to mitigate the effects of climate change, and enhancing water security for the next generation through our master planning process.
These efforts are only possible because of the dedication of Water Authority staff -- who work hard each and every day to support our member agencies and the region -- along with the strategic guidance of the Water Authority’s 36-member Board of Directors.
With your continued support, we succeeded in delivering lasting solutions for San Diego County in 2022 – and we plan to do the same in the year ahead.
